As soon as the new year rolls around, people start thinking about change. In fact, close to 40% of adults in the United States make New Year’s resolutions each year. Although a lot of people focus on saving more money, eating healthier and losing weight, about 20% of those resolutions focus on reducing stress at work. Shorter commutes may make your work life less stressful. For some people, so can working at home. For others, hiring the right people to help take some of the workload off of your shoulders can make your job — and your life — easier. 

Close to 40% of workers say their workload is a major cause of stress. They need others to help share the burden, or people available to whom they can delegate some of the responsibility. But building up your staff and bringing more employees on board takes time, effort and knowing where to look. And there is no shortage of places where you can spend your time and money on job postings. It’s important that you make the best decision for you and your company.

We’ll take a look at some of the options available for you to find job applicants in 2025, and also talk about new technology that can help in the process. 

Key Places Where You Can Find Job Applicants

Sixty percent of new jobs are found by networking. That means 40% of job seekers are looking for listings to help them track down their next position. 

There are some obvious, well-used job listing sites that will be popular in 2025. LinkedIn is among them. In fact, 77% of recruiters say they rely on LinkedIn for just that reason.

“[LinkedIn] continues to be a powerhouse for professional networking, and their job posting feature has become increasingly effective. The ability to target specific demographics and reach passive candidates makes it a valuable platform. Plus, with the rise of remote work, LinkedIn provides a space where professionals actively look for new opportunities,” says Samantha Odo, a real estate sales representative and Division Manager at Precondo

Another popular go-to site for both job seekers and recruiters is Indeed

“It’s not new, but its user-friendly interface and extensive reach make it a reliable choice,” Odo explains. “Many job seekers turn to Indeed as their go-to platform, making it a prime spot for recruiters. Leveraging its paid advertising options can give a competitive edge in reaching a broader and more targeted audience,” Odo says.

Though they may not be talked about as much, several other sites offer the perfect avenue to use to find top talent:

  1. Hubstaff Talent — If you want candidates that are looking for remote work, hub staff is a great place to start.
  2. Ladders — Around since 2003, this site focuses on opportunities for senior-level employees. “This is a great site to look for candidates with leadership experience and candidates looking for mid to executive-level positions,” notes Trevor Bogan, Regional Director Americas at Top Employers Institute
  3.  RippleHire — For HR professionals who are looking for a little help from technology to make their hiring process more efficient, RippleHire is a good bet. “It’s gaining popularity for its emphasis on employee referrals and using technology to streamline the hiring process. This can be particularly beneficial in building a talent pool from trusted connections within the industry,” states Odo.
  4. Talent.com — “Though still under the radar, they have been around since 2020. Talent.com is a site that is now one of the largest sources of employment worldwide,” Bogan notes.
  5.  Wellfound — Formerly known as AngelList Talent, Wellfound offers a special focus on jobs with startup companies, as well as tech and remote opportunities.

There are so many choices when it comes to getting the word out about your job opening. There are also a lot of choices when it comes to finding talent acquisition tools that can make your hiring process more effective.

Adding Technology into the Mix

The goal of technology is to simplify your job. We have a few methods that industry experts say are making a difference for them.

  3. Pinpoint software — This tool is designed to create a smoother, more efficient recruitment process. From finding viable candidates, to handling the application process, as well as scheduling candidates for interviews, this software is beneficial for HR representatives.
  4. QR Codes — Another form of technology that has infiltrated the marketplace worldwide, QR codes put information at job seekers’ fingertips. You can create a QR code that takes potential employees directly to the application. Or your QR code can guide applicants to find out more about your company and what it has to offer. And it’s all packaged in one compact code.

Tying It All Together

Now that you know where to find the applicants, and the tools at your disposable to simplify the recruiting process, here are a couple of points to keep in mind.

First, think outside of the box. We’ve provided some options but be willing to also incorporate creative strategies.

“Recruiters need to become more creative to find talents they need. Not only do we need to follow the 360 rule throughout the hiring process with the candidate, but to introduce it even earlier. This means connecting all the possible communication channels and tools you can think of together to discover the candidate,” explains Armine Pogosyan, IT HR Director at Dyninno Group of Companies.

That means networking with other recruiters. The candidate that didn’t fit what they needed could be just the person you are looking for. It also means going to the people who know your company best — your current employees. Do they have someone they would recommend for the job? Do they know of online groups or even physical locations where the job posting may receive a lot of attention? And speaking of online groups, virtual forums and chats can even be places to find job applicants. If you’re looking for an entry-level employee, don’t forget about college campuses and career fairs.

Ultimately, be determined to use a variety of methods to find the perfect hire.

“As the recruitment landscape changes, maintaining a diverse and inclusive hiring process is crucial. Embrace technology while maintaining a human touch. A positive candidate experience requires personalized communication and feedback. Stay adaptable, keep an eye on industry trends and constantly fine-tune your job search strategies,” Odo concludes.
